Russian operator Gars Telecom announced that its revenues grew by 22.7 percent to RUB 653.3 million in 2010. The company targets RUB 1 billion in revenues this year. Alternative services comprised 39 percent of revenues and were the main growth drivers. Alternative services include outsourcing of telecommunications services, telecommunications consulting, audits and integration projetcs. The operator focuses on providing universal telecommunications services for major corporate subscribers.

Gars Telecom managed to increase its revenue to 653.3 billion rubles (by 22,7%). The major growth was due to alternative services that rose up to 39% of operator’s annual revenue. Th company plans to increase its revenue to 1 milliard rubles in 2011.

The history of virtual operators in Russia started 10 years ago when Corbina Telecom started to sell telecom services using Vympelcom DAMPS network infrastructure. Now these companies have merged, and MVNO projects in Russia can hardly be called successful. The reasons of it hide in the fact that national operators, opposite to foreign colleagues, can’t stand competition and are not ready for infrastructure sharing.
